Core Skill Development is our foundational training program grounded in motor learning science, designed to refine the fundamental techniques that underpin all practical shooting disciplines. Whether you're a beginner building your foundation or a seasoned shooter optimizing your mechanics, this course provides the tools and methodologies to achieve measurable, long-lasting performance gains.

 

Through structured drills, deliberate practice, and performance-based training, participants will master closed skills—precise, repeatable actions that form the core of consistent and reliable shooting. This program emphasizes precision, repetition, and actionable feedback to develop automaticity in essential motor patterns, ensuring consistent performance under any condition.

Course Objectives:

  • Mastery of Essential Skills: Perfect critical techniques such as grip, stance, sight alignment, and trigger control, forming the cornerstone of consistent and reliable shooting performance.

  • Dynamic Application: Transition from foundational drills to dynamic shooting scenarios, equipping yourself to adapt and excel in high-pressure, unpredictable environments.

  • Individualized coaching to ensure meaningful development for all participants.

 

Primary Gear List

  • Firearm: A modern semi-automatic pistol suitable for practical training.

  • Holster: An OWB holster and mag pouches or a tactical/competition rig are recommended for this course. However, if you are already proficient with an IWB position, such as AIWB, and prefer to use your EDC holster, that is perfectly acceptable.

  • Magazines: At least three magazines, with a carrying system for easy access.

  • Ammunition: Minimum of 1000 rounds for pistol.

  • Eye and Ear Protection: Ballistic-rated eye protection and electronic hearing protection.

  • Support Gear: Water, snacks, sunscreen, and clothing appropriate for outdoor range conditions.

 

A full gear list and exact location details will be emailed upon registration.

 

Registration Information

Time and Location:

  • Class begins promptly at 0900. Participants are encouraged to arrive early to prepare their gear.

  • Range location details will be included in your confirmation email.

 

About Range Fees

  • A range fee, covering both days of training, is paid directly to the hosting range on the first morning of the course. This fee supports the facilities and staff that ensure a safe and professional training environment. Thank you for contributing to the success of our host range!

 

Greenwood Range Fee: $50.

 

Weather

  • The course will proceed rain or shine. Be prepared for outdoor conditions.

 

Eligibility:

  • By registering, participants certify that they meet all legal requirements for firearm possession and are of appropriate age for this training.

 

Cancelation Policy: In the rare event that we must cancel a class, participants will receive a full refund or credit toward a future course.

Student-Initiated Cancelation:

  • With 7+ Days’ Notice: Full credit transfer to another course.

  • Less than 7 Days’ Notice: No refunds or credits will be issued.
